Notes on New York

After an unusually pleasant flight (obviously I must have looked liked I deserved an upgrade), I’m currently in New York, enjoying naughty chais at Starbucks, some swift changes in the weather (from some nice sunshine and 12 degrees to chilly temperatures and a light drizzle, to heavy rain and gusty winds tonight) and the usual agenda of work related stuff, shopping, and hanging out with friends.

Social Media Week New York: lots of interesting stuff regarding reach vs impact, ad blocking, and dark social. Can’t help but notice that a majority attending the conference are women.

Last night – Mitsuko Uchida at Carnegie Hall: a sold out venue enjoyed works by Berg, Schubert, Mozart, and Schumann. Wonderful to hear her live again.

The Apple vs FBI case is followed closely by media here at the moment. Extremely interesting article on the subject: Apple, FBI, and the Burden of Forensic Methodology.
