Surreal scene #1: The Mitsuko Uchida concert at Carnegie Hall Thursday night was sold out – the place was packed with beautiful people all dressed up, and among the latecomers were half a dozen middle-aged Asian women in couture creations, with flawless hair and makeup. The only thing that really made them stand out was that they were all wearing surgical masks.
