Here’s a complete list of the 16 movies I managed to watch in December 2012, with brief micro reviews.
The Avengers. Lots of action in this mindless superhero adventure.
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Comedy/drama. Good story and some wonderful performances.
Skyfall. The latest 007. A complete waste of time.
Dinotasia. An embarassing joke of a “documentary” about dinosaurs.
Brave. The latest Pixar movie. Watchable.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. A fantasy horror movie. OK.
Pretty Woman. A fantasy where viewers need to switch off their brain in order to enjoy it. Then it’s OK.
Moonrise Kingdom. A pretentious, claustrophobic dull excuse of a movie.
En Gång i Phuket. Swedish comedy.
World’s Greatest Dad. Robin Williams stars in one of the darkest comedies I’ve seen in a while.
Lincoln. Spielberg’s costume drama without the drama. Dull, long, kinda boring.
The Perks of Being a Wall Flower. Good actors, good story, enjoyable.
Due Date. Supposed to be a comedy, but just annoying. And extremely so at times.
Cowboys and Aliens. Quite exciting fantasy adventure starring Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford.
Argo. Drama. Will probably be nominated for a bunch of Oscars. Boring, shallow and empty.
Ted. Mark Wahlberg hanging out and smoking pot with his talking teddy bear. Sigh.
