On Last Night

It’s still very cold in NYC – according to weather.com it is currently -8° Celsius (but feels like -14°): it’s not really the kind of weather you’ll go for a long walk in. Just walking a few blocks will get your nose running, your eyes tear up and your face go numb. No wonder a lot of people walking around look like bank robbers.

Last night a surprising amount of people had decided to challenge the cold and hit the bars. Talking to some friends of mine, I couldn’t help but notice a few things that were on the collective mind at the moment.

The cold. Everyone’s favorite subject du jour. It’s here and staying the weekend.

The iPad. It’s not about the hardware, it’s the content. Seems like I’m far from the only one thinking this will be a major hit.

The Situation. I’m not bothering linking this one, but Jersey Shore and its cast has stirred quite a lot of emotions. And they’re not good ones. “The celebration of ignorance” is scary in itself, but I’m convinced most will see through it. It is a major conversation topic though.
