This will be very interesting: tonight I’ll hear Murray Perahia in Schumann’s Piano Concerto, a piece I heard live (courtesy of the Digital Concert Hall) this last Friday with Mitsuko Uchida and the Berlin Philharmonic. Uchida is famous for her flawless, “perfect” interpretations, and to me, Friday’s concert was no exception. Perahia on the other hand has been enjoying rave reviews for his recent recording of Beethoven’s earlier Sonatas, so it’s with great interest I’m looking forward to hear what he will have to say about this piece.
Murray Perahia will be playing Schumann’s Piano Concerto tonight and Thursday evening at the Concert Hall in Stockholm.
