Despite the almost unbearable heat and humidity that had accumulated over the hours in the Grunewald Hall at the Concert House, hundreds of people still showed up way past midnight Friday night to hear the music of Chopin in a specially arranged event by Swedish Radio.
At 01.30 AM, the intensity in the hall was extremely noticeable – not only because of the heat, but because of the whole atmosphere; I haven’t seen a crowd this diverse since my last visit to Carnegie Hall in May – young, old, all races, all kinds, and all focused solely on the music.
(The concert can be listened to in its entirety for 30 days following the link above.)
