This must be one of the more pleasant surprises lately – its a “lesson in minimalist design” (Cult of Mac), “the very definition of everything I believe minimalist computing should be” (Minimal Mac), “my second favorite Mac app ever” (indood).
Notational Velocity is a simple but powerful notebook application that was recently updated for Snow Leopard. While it can only handle text, it’s extremely fast. With the new release, it’s now a BSD-licensed open source project, and the developer is soliciting contributions from any and all who might wish to help out. The next step: global synchronization domination.
