With the help of the recently introduced My iTunes from Apple, it’s easy to display on your website what’s recently been purchased on your iTunes account. I find it kinda cool, although it would have been awesome if it was possible to preview the songs from within the widget as well – instead, you get redirected to iTunes.

Sadly, there are 2 things making this widget nearly useless..
1. the inability to play/stream music (as you mentioned).. and
2. no affiliate support.
I hope ‘My Tunes’ widget is simply a first step toward that end. Because until these features are added, it’s pretty much DOA. And site owners will continue using Amazon widgets, which cover both of these features very well.
