While in Gothenburg I had planned on going to the Chris Watson installation (part of the GAS festival). When I arrived, the sound system had been properly set up, but clearly someone had pulled the plug or just switched off the recording as there was nothing to be heard at all.
I also had the opportunity to check out the Art Museum. There’s nothing like spending a little time with masters like Rembrandt, Picasso and Kandinsky, especially when you’ve got them all to yourself (I was there just before closing time).
At the Hasselblad Center (situated inside the Art Museum) there’s an exhibition currently running featuring the photographic works of Gregory Crewdson. Though some of his work can be so dazzlingly detailed they’re bordering on over-the-top, it’s still worth a visit (exhibition ends October 28, 2007).
